Summer Sunday Night Fellowship

This idea I have used for a number of years in the ministry.  During the summer months we have a fellowship time after each Sunday evening service.  I have found that this keeps a level of excitement and attendance for what can sometimes be difficult summer months.  Our people now look forward to this time of fellowship.

You can balance out between providing the food or having people bring something.  Various adult Sunday School classes are used for set-up, serving and clean-up.  By reading the memo below, you will get an idea of how we set this up.

SUMMER SUNDAY NIGHT FELLOWSHIPS

June 6      Cake to Honor Graduates (PEARLS FOR CHRIST CLASS)
June 13    Pie Fellowship (LADIES OF JOY CLASS) (Honor Pastoral Staff Night)
June 20    Corn on the Cob (JOHN BARCH’S CLASS)
June 27    Tomato Sandwiches (CONQUERORS  CLASS)
July 4       Hotdogs - (Before Church)  (DEACONS)
July 11     Watermelon (COLLEGE & CAREER CLASS)
July 18     Tostados (SPANISH)
July 25     Ice Cream (TEENS)
August 1  Snow Cones (VBS VOLUNTEERS)
August 8  Men’s Chili Cook-off (YOUNG COUPLES CLASS)

Teachers,

Please have class members arrive early at the church that evening to set up according to your particular fellowship.

Set up includes but is not limited to:  setting up the arrangement of tables, setting out utensils and napkins, setting up ice tea, coffee, water, ice and cups, creamers, sugars, etc., cooking or preparing the food if applicable (i.e. corn on cob, baked potatoes, hotdogs), placement of food on the tables according to your fellowship, (i.e. ice creamed scooped  - not too far ahead of time, cakes and pies sliced and put on small plates,  watermelon sliced ahead of time; whereas Tomato sandwiches - the bread and tomatoes would be put out separately).

During the fellowship, keep an eye on anything, food, drinks, utensils, etc.  that have to be refilled.

Clean up is included, too.   Please have your class members clean up.  This includes but is not limited to:  clearing off tables, washing church dishes, silverware, etc., and putting them away, washing and putting away of ice tea and coffee dispensers, etc. and wiping off the counters in the kitchen.

Thank you!  If we all serve together, we’ll really enjoy these fellowships!

Church Growth Ministry Ideas

These ideas are given to help your church to reach more people for Christ.

If you are like me you are always looking for good ideas that can be implemented without compromising convictions in the process.

I believe you can still build a local, independent Baptist church in the age in which we live.  These ideas are ones that I have successfully used and trust they will assist you.
